Artist Statement:

Throughout my photography, I explore themes of identity and self-discovery. The masks we wear symbolize the roles we play and the personas we project, but they can also become barriers to embracing our authentic selves. I weave these themes into a narrative of growth, reflecting the complexities of uncovering our true essence. My work is dedicated to capturing and celebrating the beauty within and around us, using imagery to tell stories that inspire connection and self-discovery.

About Me: My name is Jenny Carrillo, born and raised in Arizona, I am a photographer, storyteller, and curious observer of the world. My photography is an exploration of the in-between spaces, where extraordinary moments often hide. I believe in the power of community, collaboration, and curiosity.

Photography is my way of exploring the world, connecting with others, and uncovering the beauty often hidden in plain sight. I’m inspired by the intimacy of human connection and the layers of emotion that make us who we are. My photography is about creating windows to reflect, connect, and wonder.

Mission: My mission is to uncover and celebrate the beauty within and around us to craft stories that connect us to ourselves and to each other.

What I Do: I specialize in capturing moments that resonate with depth and emotion. Whether it’s a personal project or a community event, each frame I capture is infused with curiosity and a sense of community. My work revolves around facilitating exploration, introspection, and genuine connections through the lens.

Approach: My approach is rooted in curiosity and connection, driven by a desire to uncover the extraordinary within the ordinary. I use light, shadow, and thoughtful compositions to tell stories, inviting viewers to pause and reflect. My process is hands-on and collaborative, blending intentionality with spontaneity. Each image is an invitation to look deeper, to feel, and to connect.
